At the outset of the 2017 Major League Baseball season, the Yankees were poised to have a fantastic year. After a winning campaign in 2016, their young players were set for a breakout season.
And then it all went horribly wrong.
Here for the first time is the full story of Bungo McGarnagle, the erstwhile general manager during that ill-fated season. After the discovery of his personal diary which he kept stored in a hollowed-out wooden leg that was not his own, we are finally able to tell his story in his own words.
We've also drawn from emails, writings and personal recollections of those who knew him best, including players, coaches and owners of the team.
Finally, using the magic of Out of the Park Baseball 2018, we are able to simulate each and every game just as they happened in real life.
Such an event has never happened before in the annals of baseball history, and after the Bungo McGarnagle experiment, is unlikely to be repeated.
